Are all meals prepared using the 40:30:30 formula?

Yes, our Chief Medical Officer and chefs have worked hand-in-hand to create a program that delivers three healthy restaurant-quality meals and two great snacks. All our meals are prepared using the right combination of 40% carbohydrates, 30% proteins and 30% favorable fats for optimal nutrition.

How customized can my meals be?

Chefs Diet™ is all about getting the right nutrition for your lifestyle. We have carefully designed menus for a wide range of health, dietary and religious concerns. Plus, our representatives work with you to design a nutritional plan that delivers three balanced meals and two snacks that take your individual needs and likes into consideration. And we can update your preferences as you start enjoying the meals.

Will I lose weight?

Weight-loss is only one of many reason people choose Chefs Diet™ . You may lose in the range of 8 to 10 pounds during their first month and 6 to 8 pounds per month thereafter. A lot depends on the plan you choose, your goals and your condition. §

What if I don’t need to lose weight?

Eating balanced meals makes good health sense. That’s why so many people who don’t need to lose weight but want to stay healthy and in good shape choose the Chefs Diet™ meal delivery program. After all, good health, greater energy, and three fantastic meals and two great snacks are enjoyable for everyone.

What if I am allergic to a particular food?

We understand the issues and are designed to setup a program that’s right for you. So, you can give us your allergies and triggers and we will customize a plan for you. We will be able to accommodate most food restrictions and will consult with you if we can’t.

How do I prepare the food?

Meals are conveniently packaged in microwavable containers and delivered to your door in thermal carriers. Meals that need to be re-heated take from 1 to 3 minutes. No microwave? No problem. Put your meal on an oven-safe dish and re-heat at 350 degrees until it reaches your desired temperature.

Can I drink alcohol while I’m on the program?

Yes, in moderation. But keep in mind that alcohol is a carbohydrate. So, remember these two things: Some food in your stomach slows down the absorption rate of the sugar into your bloodstream and will help to keep your insulin levels in check. So eat a little something when you have a drink and eat fewer carbohydrates at that meal if you choose to drink alcohol.

Can I eat 40:30:30 if I’m eating out?

Sure. Use common sense and portion size as a guide. Order salads with dressing on the side so you have control. Choose proteins like skinless chicken, fish, lean beef, veal, lamb or low fat tofu. Steer clear of the bread basket, better yet ask them to take it away. Steamed vegetables make a healthy a side dish.

Protein: Keep portions to the size of a deck of cards. Or, the size and thickness of your palm.

Carbohydrates: Choose healthier carbs like fruits or vegetables and you can have a portion about the size of your hands curled into two loose fists. Choosing less favorable carbs with higher levels of sugar or starch, means just one fistful.

If you get served big portions, ask for a take-out container and save half your meal for later.

How can I re-schedule a delivery?

It’s easy to re-schedule for any reason. Call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-939-0663 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) or email* help@mychefsdiet.com. Keep in mind, we need two (2) business days notice to process delivery changes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Canceling your program is easy. Just call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-939-0663 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) or email* help@mychefsdiet.com.  It takes two (2) business days to cancel any regular program, and THREE (3) business days for other programs. Upon receipt of your cancellation notice, as referenced above, you will receive a refund within 5 to 10 business days for any days in which deliveries were not sent.

Any and all days in which meals were delivered will be pro-rated to our current suggested retail price per day.**

Can I change the delivery address for one or more of my next deliveries?

Sure, you can change your address for any future delivery(s) if your new address is within our delivery service area.  Changes must be made by calling our Customer Service Department at 1-800-939-0663 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) or by emailing* help@mychefsdiet.com. .Any change requests must be made two (2) business days PRIOR to the delivery date you need to change your delivery address for. 

What if there is an error / problem with a meal I received?

We want you to be happy. So, if there is an error with an individual meal you received, Chefs Diet™ will issue a meal credit (i.e. breakfast credit, lunch credit, dinner credit or snack credit). In fact, if for some reason you acquire 5 credits, Chefs Diet will add an extra day of service to your account. You can have the credits refunded to your credit card at the end of your program cycle. Or, if you do not request a refund, all outstanding meal credits will remain in your account for future use.

The dollar amount of your refund will represent the fair value of your meal(s) and is subject to change without notice.

* If you choose to contact us about your order via email, please include your full name, order number, telephone number and clearly state your change request.

** To explain how our pro-rate formula works, we extend discounted rates for programs with longer days per cycle.  For example, our 31 day program costs less per day than our 14 day program.  If you order a 31 day program but cancel your last two weeks, your 31 day discounted daily rate no longer applies to your total order.  You will be charged the regular rate of a 14 day program and will be refunded the difference.
